For Athletes, By Athletes
DT Sports Academy was created by athletes with the Athlete in mind. Founded by Dymonte Thomas a premiere collegiate athlete and former professional NFL athlete who recognized the need to help develop the next generation of athletes using science-backed performance training and the firsthand knowledge of being a professional athlete.
Mission Statement
Our Goal is to help guide, mentor, coach, and train the next generation of athletes and help every athlete develop their sports performance ability to their full potential through a positive and encouraging based training environment.
Former Denver Broncos safety and University of Michigan football safety. Dymonte has achieved the dream of every young athlete, the ability to train, develop, and play at every level of sport.
From a young age growing up in the small town of Alliance, Ohio Dymonte was active in sports playing baseball, football, wrestling, and track. Through Highschool Dymonte was a 4-year letterman in 3 sports, Football, baseball, and wrestling and as early as a freshman he was able to gain the attention of collegiate coaches and scouts for baseball and college coaches for football.
I tell you this not to impress you, but rather to impress upon you my firsthand knowledge and experience at the highest level of sport competition and the knowledge and experience to help athletes train their bodies and focus their minds to gain the mental focus and confidence needed to help them achieve their dreams and take them to their next level. I have always wanted to give back and help other young athletes attain their dreams and now with DT Sports Academy I am able to do that.
In addition to Dymonte’s hard work on the field and in the gym, he’s always been passionate about serving his community. Throughout his life, Dymonte has always worked hard & overcome many challenges to reach success. In order for him to share his success with his community as well as inspire others to generate their own individual success stories, he co-founded the More Than Football foundation in October 2018 as a way to conquer both.
The Foundation is dedicated to creating opportunities and improving the lives of youth. Focused on helping benefit and enrich local youth, Dymonte’s hope is to evoke change and inspire fellow community members through core values of dedication, leadership, and accountability to ensure the youth of our community can reach their full potential in a safe and secure environment. Dymonte prides himself on being a superb example of what it means to be a leader and doing what it takes to make a positive difference.
Former University of Michigan Long Snapper and teammate of Dymonte. Andrew is currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Duke University where he is working to pursue a career in Sport Performance Physical Therapy or Tactile Physical Therapy (working with soldiers, veterans, and amputees). Andrew also works with high school long snappers throughout the state of Michigan and North Carolina, who aspire to continue their football career at the collegiate level. His younger brother, Bradley, is a 2-year starter at Ohio State University as a long snapper. He has always been active with various sports teams, having been a 3-year letterman in lacrosse and football in high school, as well as playing basketball and baseball up until the start of high school.
Andrew comes to us remotely as our Head Strength Coach, where he will oversee all the program design portions for all age groups and athletic teams. As well as he will be heavily involved in all individualized strength programming. He received his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification in the winter of 2020, after spending time as a student intern with the Football Strength and Conditioning Staff after the completion of his eligibility.
Brenden is a former Divison II lacrosse player who played at CSU-Pueblo. While at CSU-Pueblo he suffered two major injuries in back-to-back seasons, both requiring surgery, this lead him to finding his passion in Strength and Conditioning, as well as becoming the Namesake for the ‘Resiliency Award’ in the program. After earning his B.S. in Exercise Science, he interned at Arkansas State where he became the interim lead coach for the strength-oriented group for football & for the women’s basketball team.
He returned back to Colorado to get his CSCS certification. He worked at Foothills coaching various youth athletes in all sports, including helping various teams, most recently helping Chatfield Gymnastics before arriving at Dymonte Thomas Sports Academy.
